The federal government announced the largest-ever investment in environmental justice — $15 billion targeted to communities that have borne the disproportionate burden of pollution, contamination, and environmental degradation for generations.

The funding will clean up Superfund sites, replace lead pipes in schools and homes, install air quality monitors in fence-line communities near industrial facilities, and support community-led environmental planning initiatives.
